Cricket: West Indies v England, 3rd Test - Barbados
Last weekend, I just so happened to be in Barbados when England were playing their third and final test match against the West Indies. I took my camera down for days two and three, hoping to capture some action... and I wasn't disappointed. Day two saw 18 wickets fall - an all time record for one day in any test match in the West Indies. A further ten wickets fell on Sunday and the West Indians pushed through to take the victory thanks to solid batting from Bravo and Blackwood.
As per usual, I came home with far too many photos and have found it hard to select which to put in these highlights. Hopefully you will get a taste of the experience...
Stuart Broad - bowled out by Taylor in the 1st innings
Immediately followed by a golden duck from Anderson
Stuart Broad
A fan (from Bellsize Park RFC?) giving the players a spectacle (although the umpire doesn't look too impressed).
OUCH!! Ballance takes a ball in the wrist!
Trott had obviously had one too many Banks beers!
Oohh, the Stokesy-cokey, oohh, the Stokesy-cokey!
Stunning catch by Moeen on the boundary.
Day 3:
Shannon Gabriel - frequently bowling at over 90mph.
Holder smashes Broad's stumps out of the ground for a golden duck.
HOWZAAATTTTT!!!! Is that Michael Jackson getting excited in the slips??
Flamboyant fans from both sides of the Atlantic.
Brathwaite playing a very West Indian shot.
Jordon gets Hope LBW and then catches Brathwaite in the following over.
Samuels clean-bowled by Broad.
Official "Man of the Series", James Anderson.
Anderson flying down the track. 6 wickets in the 1st innings but sadly only 1 in the 2nd.
Moeen, Moeen...
...GONE!!
The test came to its conclusion after only 3 days with West Indies taking the victory by 5 wickets and drawing the series. The 2 days I spent at the sold-out Kensington Oval in Bridgetown were nice enough in their own right but to make the experience even sweeter, I won a bottle of Mount Gay XO rum for tweeting the following photo...
I have thousands of pounds worth of photo equipment but I win a prize for a picture I took on my phone!! Maybe I should get rid of my camera?!
Thanks for taking a look at my blog. Keep your eyes peeled for more photos in the near future!
